Sizing

Bangle Sizing

Here is a picture of how to measure for bangles. Since bangles have no clasp, they need to fit around the largest part of your knuckles when making a straight hand fist. This is different to your bracelet/wrist size. Measure in inches (7.5, 7.75, 8, 8.25 etc)

PLEASE NOTE: There is a $50 resizing fee for bangles plus shipping.

Necklace Sizing

Below is a chart for general sizing ideas. Everyone’s bodies are different so the best way to measure for the length you’d like is to take a measuring tape (or a piece of string and a ruler) around the back of your neck, underneath your hair, while looking forward in a mirror to connect where you’d like your necklace to sit in the front.

FAQs

What are Sunrise Shells?

Sunrise shells are an endemic species of scallop shell to Hawaiian waters, meaning they do not exist anywhere else in the entire world. This Langford’s Pecten shell is nicknamed a “sunny” because of the vibrant shades of yellow, orange, pinks, and red that naturally occur on either side of this shell, which resembles a Hawaiian sunrise. These shells were said to have been reserved for the Hawaiian Ali’i (Royalty) in ancient days. Their rarity and status still holds true in modern day Hawaii. This species of scallop shell, when alive, lives in waters around 300ft deep. I find the empty shells in sandy areas while scuba diving in about 75ft-100ft. Sometimes I am very lucky and even find them while walking along the beach of Oahu’s North Shore after a big swell.

All of the sunrise shells used in my jewelry were found personally by me.

What is sea glass?

Sea glass is essentially discarded glass that’s found its way into the ocean, either from old land fills, or tossed by humans. This glass is tumbled by the ocean waves for decades while the salt in the water creates a unique hazy frosty texture on the glass. Sometimes it even has unique markings or little “c” shapes from it hitting coral and rocks while tumbling in the waves. ALL of the sea glass I use in my jewelry is naturally tumbled by the ocean waves in Hawaii, and hand picked off the beaches and underwater by me.

What is 14K Gold Filled?

14K Gold-filled jewelry is composed of a solid layer of gold mechanically bonded to a base metal. The layer of gold on gold-filled items is 5 to 10 times thicker than that produced by regular gold plating. This means gold filled will not chip or tarnish like a plated or vermeil would. It is water proof, tarnish resistant, and hypoallergenic.

Where do you source your shells, seaglass, and shark teeth?

I personally find and collect EVERY single sunrise shell and piece of sea glass here on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. I do not buy my shells. Which makes every piece I make even more unique.

The fossilized shark teeth I find in Florida when I make my yearly visits to see friends and family, or are sent to me from there. I use fossilized shark teeth in my jewelry to ensure that these came from sharks that are millions of years old, and there is no question of whether they were ethically sourced like “fresh” white shark teeth.

How do I care for my silk jewelry?

Silk is not recommended for any water activities, including showers, pool, ocean, working out etc. If you do get it salty or sweaty its best to rinse with cool, fresh water and lay flat to dry, out of the sunlight, to avoid stretching out and fading the silk.
